If you would like to participate in Scarecrow Row, please read the guidelines and fill out the form below.
Scarecrow Row Guidelines
1. September 30 – Applications and fees must be received. (Corporate and Small Business applications must be received by September 26, 2011 to insure names will be on the appropriate banners and/or posters.
2. October 1-7 – Decorate assigned pole.
3. October 17 - 18 – Judging for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place is scheduled for the morning.
4. October 31 – Winners will be announced with Trick and Treat best costume awards.
5. November 4 – All Scarecrows must be removed by 5 p.m.
6. Scarecrows should be decorated in keeping with the Theme, “Villains and Heroes Explore the Good Life.”
7. Signage for your Scarecrow will be provided to you by the Alachua Chamber of Commerce and will include your Pole number and the information YOU provided on your application form.
8. Scarecrow must be secured to pole with strapping – NO TAPE.
9. Scarecrows must not encroach on the walkways or streets.
10. Please use weather resistant materials that are not valuable.
11. Please visit your Scarecrow at least once a week to freshen and repair.
12. Please do not use unsafe materials and/or installation techniques.
